Jeri has been freelance film and television critic for twenty years but the love of film came sitting in the local movie theatre at age six watching BAMBI for the first time. She knew then what she believes now – there are films that will leave a film-print on our hearts that can never be erased.
Editor of Movie Maven and Assistant Editor for Military Press, she keeps busy doing what she absolutely loves – watching films and television with a big bowl of popcorn, a notebook and comfortable pen. She also has a AA, BA, MA and an ABD in Multicultural Education working on her thesis Representation of Native Americans in Film. Jeri is also an award winning published poet with Tattered Angel and Under The Chinaberry Tree.
She has spent years and continues working with the San Diego Children’s International Film Festival as a juror and as a moderator to the San Diego International Film Festival. When not watching, writing, moderating or being a part of a juror, she spends time with the opinionated granddaughter hoping someday she will take over everything – except maybe the black and white movie collection!
