Laura Garnier

My name is Laura, and I’m a filmaholic. Or a cinephile, if you want to get technical. Film has first and foremost always been my go-to medium for escapism, with it always having been a big part of my life. I have a BA degree in Drama, which was the result of originally wanting to be an actor. In the past few years I’ve come to realise my vocation lies behind the camera and off-stage, partially due to my fear of not being able to remember lines.

In the past year or so I’ve moved my learning online, undertaking courses created by institutions such as the National Film and Television School and The Production Guild of Great Britain. It’s afforded me new skills that enable me to see film in different ways, and perhaps even hope to create my own one day.
