Mia is a German-born freelance film critic living part-time in London. A fan of Hollywood’s golden era and its movie musicals, coming-of-age and slice-of-life films, she fell in love with cinema after first seeing “La La Land” as a teenager, realizing that storytelling can be rich, melancholic and sometimes even unexpected.
Passionate about amplifying Gen Z and female voices in film, she cites Greta Gerwig, Céline Sciamma, and Charlotte Wells as inspirations and loves to loves to trigger something in the reader with her words, which is the most valuable feedback for her.
She loves attending film festivals like Cannes, Venice or London and catching up with like-minded people, would watch any movie for actors like Emma Stone, Florence Pugh, or Paul Mescal and thinks that “Paddington 2” should really be named the best movie of all time.
Mia writes reviews and essays for her platform film&glory, and her work also appears on Next Best Picture, Digital Spy, Movie Marker, Kino-Zeit, and she also has had appeared as a guest on the German movie magazine Kino+ and the podcast GenreGeschehen.
