Ruth is an Indonesian-born screenwriter, producer, and film critic based in the Twin Cities. A web designer by trade, she runs the FlixChatter.net film blog and is a RottenTomatoes-approved critic.She has been an independent film critic for 15+ years.
Ruth’s fascination with movies began in her childhood in Jakarta, thanks to her late mother, who would bring back classic Hollywood films from her overseas trips. It wasn’t until Ruth’s early 30s that she began writing reviews, spurred on by a colleague who suggested she start a blog to share her love for cinema.
As Ruth delved deeper into film writing, her initial love for movies blossomed into a genuine passion for film criticism, fueled by the inspiration she found in other cinephiles.
