Editor-in-Chief at Loud and Clear and recent Film Studies MSc graduate, Serena was raised on Star Wars and Disney, spent her teenage years taking life lessons from Dawson’s Creek, and continued her film education at the Venice Film Festival, a magical place she has been visiting every year since 2004.
A Slytherin at heart, Serena quotes obscure movie references in conversations, takes disappointing endings way too seriously, and still hasn’t recovered from the trauma caused by Up’s “Married Life” montage, which she considers to be the most heart-wrenching 4:17 minutes in film history.
A member of Film Independent and a reviewer at Cherry Picks, Serena has written a dissertation on Joker, and is currently interested in virtual reality, audience studies, fan culture, and the representation of mental health in film and TV.
